From ntarl at dictyon.com Mon Aug 4 18:33:11 2008 From: ntarl at dictyon.com (Nick Tarlson) Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2008 15:33:11 -0700 Subject: [So-mt] FW: For release through the mailing lists ASAP Message-ID: <03e201c8f682$1448dd00$3cda9700$@com> Apparently there has been some misinformation posted this past weekend on "What's New" and subsequently on the Auxiliary e-News electronic newsletter that was INCORRECT. On Sunday, August 3, 2008 the "What's New" item read: * AUXNAV Course The new Coast Guard Auxiliary Navigation Course, based on the book, The Weekend Navigator, is now available and in stock at AUXCEN. Refer to SpeedGram 2008-01 for details. [Posted: 01 AUG 2008. Source: Robin Freeman, DC-E] There is no new AUXNAV course at this time. This recent posting is from the Department of Education and refers to a new public education course, not AUXNAV. The posting on "What's New" will be re-released to reflect this and a correction to the Auxiliary e-News will be mailed in a special edition. The above posting has been withdrawn from "What's New" and a new posting will be added that specifically refers to a new public education course using Weekend Navigator as a text. Please inform your members through the chain of communication that the "What's New" posting is in reference to a new PE course, and the AUXNAV course remains the same (using the Advanced Coastal Navigation text).
