It is my understanding that when you submit a new member packet that an impled number is assigned which becomes the member number when they are cleared and have DIRAUX approvals. As such, they can enter a crew training for anything on land but can not participate on the water.

My guess is that you are going out of CHAIN OF LEADERSHIP...you should go to SO-MT,then DSO-MT,who can go to DCO or DIRAUX

2. Situation: FSO-MT has mailed a completed New Member packet for a prospective member to DirAux two days ago. The Flotilla is starting their Crewmember training sequence in three days. Can an FSO-MT contact someone in DirAux office (like New Member processer) to learn of the new member's membership number so as to permit the new member to participate in the training even though his application has not been completly processed? [I would think the process would have to be completed (the Director signing the application form) before a membership number could be assigned.]
