Here in D-13, we have had great success working with other federal
partners to utilize them for member training. My Flotilla has given Member training
given by the ATF on IED ( improvised Explosive Devices) as we walk the docks
at marinas, watch key port facilities , We have had guest training from
The gold side, sheriffs, police, firedepts, OSHA, Dept of Army, Navy,

We work with these people occasionally and it is good to develop a relationship with them and understand how we can be more effective in our cooperation and how
to utilize our relationships when needed. We have found that this also opened discussions
into problems we have had in the past and how to change these .
ICS gives us the command structure under IDEAL conditions but many aspects
of that program have not been enacted such a communications interoperability.
We have run into this at the " Tall Ships" When they were in Tacoma Wa.

We did not have the ability to talk to the DNR patrol boat or the sheriff boat 100'
from my Patrol boat. little details that become very pertinent in the large scope
  of things.

So this is just a thought, Hope it keeps your Flotilla meetings fresh.
  It has for us.
