The Department of Training serves our members by designing innovative and effective performance solutions that enable them to achieve their personal goals, support the myriad of Recreational Boating Safety and Maritime Domain Awareness missions and provide valuable assistance in protecting our shoreline and the Nation.

Our core responsibility is to provide advanced, value-added,  leadership and management training for our members. The delivery philosophy is focused on a “blended learning” approach that uses a variety of methods to deliver training in an optimally effective manner.

We provide the highest quality learning opportunities to our members by leveraging the expertise and resources of the Coast Guard. Our goal is to enable every member to "LEARN ~ CONTRIBUTE ~ INSPIRE" .

Welcome!  This is your page to spread the word and give visibility to activities that increase participation in member training, enhance training effectiveness and improve unit performance.  Sharing these ideas will spark creativity and help other members around the country improve their training efforts.

New website

The T-Dept. is pleased to welcome you to its new web site, which was launched on June 5, 2008.  This new site incorporates several features that members should find useful, such as:

·         A user-friendly design that will help members find the information they need in an effective and efficient way;

·         A drop menu for the major categories of items of interest;  

·         A navigation bar that groups useful links, department information and auxiliary links;

·         New pages at the footer of each page that provide useful information, i.e., About us, Site Map and Contact Us;

·         Updated descriptions and links throughout all pages, e.g., Distance Learning - Online Courses, Testing and Test Results;

 We hope that you will enjoy using this website and welcome your suggestions for possible enhancements or new features.

Member Training E-Mail Lists

There are special e-mail lists available to Member Training staff officers that provide timely information about items of interest and new developments. These lists are maintained on the national server and are free from spam or viruses. Select the appropriate link below to subscribe to the appropriate list.
